Zach Seeger
Sports
March 27 - May 14, 2022
We are thrilled to announce New York artist Zach Seeger’s first solo exhibition with the gallery.
Sports is a group of paintings of athletes in action. In this work, Seeger connects athletic performance with painterly decision making. Smashing together disparate cultural products (sports and contemporary art), Seeger dares us to embrace the uncomfortable distance between them. Sports is a a tightrope walk by an artist as subversive in his thinking as he is earnest and joyful with paint.
Zach Seeger is a painter, sculptor, and writer working in Brooklyn and upstate New York. He received his BFA from Binghamton University and MFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design, and has exhibited at Arts + Leisure and Freight + Volume galleries, Crush Curatorial, stARTup Fair LA, Life on Mars Gallery, Room 482, Transmitter, and Ortega y Gasset Projects. He is a regular contributor for Two Coats of Paint and teaches painting and drawing at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan.
